Open House Event Schedule
About the Open House Activities
The activities during the Open House Days will give your family a taste of what Read Play Love is all about! The Open House events are largely focused around our summer theatre productions and auditions, but if theatre isn't your thing, don't worry! Our summer schedule includes other activities, too, such as Lego Creations and Pizazz Painting. For the full Summer Schedule, go here.
Before and after activities, families can enjoy two acres of outdoor playspace, an extensive children's library with checkout privileges, indoor play areas, and more! Pack lunch and snacks and stay as long as you like! The RPL Exploratory is conveniently located near major highways, but the country setting feels like it's a whole world away...you'll love it!
All Open House activities are free, but reservations are required.

Musical Theatre Workshops
In these workshops, kids will learn and perform a song from one of the shows in our upcoming Summer Production, Wizard of Songz. These workshops are a great way to get a taste of RPL's creative, empowering and encouraging approach to theatre. They are welcome to go at their own pace, and even just watch and observe until they are comfortable. The Workshops are divided by age group, and each day will teach a different song, so feel free to come to more than one of them! Kids can even stay after to audition for the show! Teen "Triple Threat" Masterclasses
Three days of FREE Masterclasses for teens. Each workshop focuses on one of the three aspects of musical theatre that make up a "triple threat" (acting, singing, and choreography) -- and students can attend just one of the masterclasses or all three. In each class, kids get a chance to learn material from The Whimsical World of Sherlock Holmes and put new skills into practice. For those interested in auditioning, there are audition timeslots available before and after the Masterclasses. No preparation or experience is necessary. RPL is the ideal environment for teens to have their first theatre experience, as well as giving seasoned performers the opportunity to grow deeply in an encouraging environment. PLUS...Teen Kick-Off Mixer - Kids 13-18 are invited to "Sherlock & S'mores" on the evening of Friday June 2 to wrap up our Open House festivities! Participation in the Teen Production is not required - all teens are welcome. Go to the reservation form... |
