RPL's StoryStones Project:
​Paving the Path to Our Future!


Have you - or someone you love - been touched by the magic of Read Play Love at some point during the past 10 years? Be part of the legacy and add a book to our Story!

In this unique fundraiser we are asking for your tax- deductible  donation for one or more “Book Bricks” to add to our path to become part of the permanent landscape at our facility. Each brick is $100 and customizable with your special dedication and cover design. 
Become part of our Story! Donate and dedicate a "Book Brick" to a special person in your life, a lover of the arts, in memoriam, or make a positive impact on the community and donate a brick on behalf of your business or company.

The Inspiration

The StoryStones Path pays homage to how RPL first began, when RPL Director Marney Makridakis inherited her mother's collection of thousands of lovingly-curated children's books to form the Read Play Love library. 

With this project, we'll bring the spirit of the Library outdoors in a truly unique way, inspiring a love of literacy and creativity in all who visit.

The Purpose

You will literally help us pave the way to our future by making a tax-deductible donation for one or more "Book Bricks" to add to our path and be part of the RPL Legacy!   Every donation supports Read Play Love's mission of empowering children through the arts and creating an inclusive culture of love, and all the unique services we provide North Texas families, including:​
  • A truly inclusive community of families - we welcome everyone and celebrate diversity as we share the common goal of fostering empowering experiences for our kids
  • Our original theatre productions, with roles created for every child, so everyone has a chance to shine and work together to create something truly unique
  • Creative classes, activities, art outreach projects, and "KidProf" - where kids teach classes themselves
  • And all the ways that RPL kids are given a voice to express themselves, including those who may not have these opportunities in more traditional environments.

How Does It Work? 


1. Make your tax-deductible donation.  
  • Each "book brick" is $100 donation
  • Bundle 6 bricks for $500
  • Get a 12-brick "Book Nook" for $1000.  A "Book Nook" also has the option to be located in a dedicated location, if you like (i.e., around a tree, outlining a garden, etc.) 
  • There is also the option to designate that your bricks be given to RPL children, who can select book titles or messages meaningful to them.  As not every family will be able to donate to the Project at this time, it's is a great way to support the inclusion of everyone!

2. After making your donation, you'll be asked to send details about your book design and bookplate dedication. You can either select one of these bricks that are available for dedication or request your own Custom brick with the title of your choice, and a bookplate with your request.

3. When your custom "Book Brick" is complete, send you a photo, as well as an announcement and photo to any recipient(s) to whom you've dedicated a brick!   Your book will be on site in our path, as well as in our online Story-Stones Gallery.
