Join us for the world-premiere of The Little Prince Explores the Universe, a new musical written by RPL's Director Marney Makridakis and Arthiss Kliever (aka Marney's mother, and the original curator of the RPL Library!) This new adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupery's beloved novella presents a whimsical celestial adventure, with a heartfelt message about the importance of imagination. A cast of children age 3-12 have brought the story to life with their own creative contributions!
Performed at RPL's Outdoor Theatre, the doors open at 6:00 so you can grab your seat (bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets!), get a snack at our concessions area, see the Library and the Fairy Garden, and check out our Spring Fundraisers: the StoryStones Path and the Shooting Stars Display! The performance of the musical will begin at 6:30 and will include an extended intermission including snacks and a Kids' Craft activity.
Ticket reservations are made by donation. In the event of inclement weather, ticket holders will be contacted with updates.

Reserve Your Tickets - Donate What You Can
Ticket revenue from performances of our original musicals has historically been a lifeblood for Read Play Love. In the past, we sold tickets for $10-$12 for adults, and kids’ tickets for about half of that. But we now take reservations on a donation basis. This way, those who are able to donate more can do so, and if any family would find regular ticket prices cost prohibitive, they can donate what they can.
The donation model more closely reflects what RPL has always been: a heart-centered space that empowers children from all backgrounds to SHINE and do more than they think they can do, and brings families together to create an inclusive culture of love.
Read Play Love provides the space – physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially – but our Members and Supporters keep it alive! And as non-profit organization experiencing unexpected circumstances in the past few years, every single dollar helps us keep our doors open so we can continue doing what we do best!
Read Play Love is a 501(c)3 organization and donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.

Audience members of all ages are welcome. Each Act will be about 20 minutes long, so the shorter length is ideal for younger kids. The story is absolutely appropriate and entertaining for all ages. (The more emotionally-intense aspects of the original book have been omitted or simplified.)
