Little Library Musicals is our program for age 6-10 in which kids present mini-musicals with creative twists on favorite children's books and stories!

These short shows, prepared in 4 weeks, allow a positive opportunity for young actors to become comfortable on stage, and feel the exciting achievement of performing for our families!

Each child receives an audio recording and a video to use at home to learn songs and simple lines. Here's an overview of our sessions each week:

*Week One: Play theatre games, introduce the mini-musical.
*Week Two: Choreograph and rehearse the songs
*Week Three: Continue rehearsing and make simple costumes and props.
*Week Four: Final rehearsal and performance! Families are invited to see the final performance in the second half-hour of the 4th class.

Details about the individual mini-musicals are listed below:

Session 1: The Princes & The Princesses
Thursdays 12:00-1:00
June 2, 9, 16, 23

Summer kicks off with our most popular Little Library Musical, "The Princes and the Princesses", based on the picture book by Arthiss Kliever.

Kids get to decide if they want to be in the group of "proper" Princes and Princesses or the group of "playful" Princes and Princesses in this sweet musical about people with very different personalities learning to understand one another.

*SUMMER BONUS: every family who registers gets a free copy of the hardcover picture book on the first day of the session!

Session 2: The Rollicking Rescue of Peter Rabbit
Thursdays 12:00-1:00
July 7, 14, 21, 28

Our second mini-musical is "The Rollicking Rescue of Peter Rabbit" -- get ready for a wild time!

Kids will get to pick any animal and then develop their own character and lines to be part of a crazy story about a group of animals on a madcap adventure to rescue Peter Rabbit when he gets stuck under the gate. Will they succeed? The kids will decide!

Session 3: The Mother Goose Mix-Up
Thursdays 12:00-1:00
August 4, 11, 18, 25

Our final mini-musical of the summer is a show about putting on a show! The characters are trying to put on a Mother Goose Musical but they keep feeling like something is...missing. Little by little, they add in all the elements (director, choreographer, composer, stage manager, playwright, propmaster, costumer) but mix-ups happen along the way!

Features humorous songs based on nursery rhymes performed by these funny, theatrical characters.
