Homeschool: TED ED Club (age 8-18)
TED-Ed Club
Age: 8+, RPL Members Only
Tuesdays 1:00-2:00 @ FBCR (Fall Semester: Sept 11-Dec 11)
Description: TED-Ed Clubs help students discover and develop their big ideas into short, TED-style talks. The Clubs program is designed to support students ages 8-18 with a flexible presentation training curriculum, culminating in a final presentation at the end of the semester.
We invite you to participate in our very first RPL TED-ED Club, joining thousands of Clubs in 100+ countries in a global network of passionate youth with ideas worth sharing.
The curriculum is in three parts:
1. Identify your passion: "What makes your heart beat faster?" The first part of the curriculum has students explore the ideas they're passionate about. By diving into activities that expand curiosity, participants will identify and discuss what matters most to them.
2. Choose Your Idea: "What is YOUR big idea?" As students journey through the curriculum, they'll be challenges to identify and shape the story only they can tell. Through guided brainstorms and active peer feedback exercises, students will crat their very own TED-style talk.
3. Start Talking: "How can your idea change the world?" By the end of their club cycle, students will have recorded their very own talk and uploaded it to our RPL Club's YouTube channel, which can then be shared with their families, friends, communities around the world.
