About the Shows
The RPL Theatre Festival lineup includes full plays & musicals (up to 45 minutes), as well as shorter excerpts (5-10 minutes). Full details about the 12 shows are below.

Title: 1-2-3 Dance
Playwright/Director: Annabelle Frigoli Format: Full musical, approx 30 min, with lines and songs memorized if possible. Plot Summary: In this musical about perseverance, a mother of three girls wants to create a dance class for preschoolers to follow in her mother's footsteps, but she faces many other challenges along the way. Rehearsal Schedule: Fridays 4:30-6:00pm on Zoom. Martha, Ava, and Young Ava also may have some rehearsals Wednesdays at 4:30-5:30, with schedule to be determined with cast's convenience. Title: Bingo Tonight
Playwright/Director: Kai Makridakis Format: Full play, approx 35 minutes, with lines memorized if possible. Plot Summary: In a drama-comedy about fiction vs. reality, James falls in love with Esha and wants to marry her, but his mysterious father does everything he can to stop it from happening. Rehearsal Schedule: Sundays 2:00-3:30pm, but not every actor will be called every week. Some actors will also be called Tuesdays 2:00-3:00. No rehearsals the week of Dec 21. Character Breakdown:

Title: Cats in Space
Playwright/Director: Keeley Stadler Format: 1 Scene + Song, approx 5 mins, with lines memorized. Plot Summary: In this play about friendship, a cat named Max has a dream to go to space but when he can't find what he needs, he and his friends go on a big adventure and work together to help him! The excerpt for the Festival includes the opening song and scene. Rehearsal Schedule: Fridays, 11:30-12:30 - The Stadler siblings will alternate weeks among their 3 shows. Character Breakdown:

Title: A Craftman's Choice
Playwright/Director: Mabry Ruiz Format: Full play, approx 11 minutes, with lines memorized. Plot Summary: Jack Miller has a choice to make about his job: Keep being a craftsman, or help his family. However, his wife Jane and their kids make a him a special surprise. Rehearsal Schedule: Monday's at 2:00pm, starting Nov. 9th, except for the week of December 21. The last filming day will be January 18th from 2:00 to 4:30. Character Breakdown:

Title: Dreams
Playwright/Director: Levi Donaldson Format: Full musical, approx 35 minutes, with lines memorized if possible. Plot Summary: In this play about following your dreams, James tries to follow his dreams about building a theme park. Rehearsal Schedule: Fridays 2pm-5:30pm (We will spit this time frame up with different actors) No rehearsal the week of Thanksgiving or Christmas. Last filming days are January 22 & 29. Playwright/Director: Chloe Pena Format: 4 scenes, approx 7 minutes Plot Summary: High school students return after summer to face school and social life. The first 3-4 scenes will be presented. Title: Ocean's Friendship
Playwright/Director: Violet Hendren Format: 3 Scene excerpt, approx 7 minutes, with lines memorized Plot Summary: In this excerpt, Ren, Mako and Silverstone overtake the evil Shark King and put an end to his evil reign, freeing the ocean and rescuing their friends and family. Rehearsal Schedule: Tuesdays from 4:00-5:00 pm, November 9-January 26, except for the week of Dec. 21. One Thursday rehearsal on January 14 (this could change based on actor availability, but there will be two rehearsals for this week ONLY). Ren, Mako and Silverstone will be called for all rehearsals, Shark King, James and Zorie will be called for all rehearsals EXCEPT Nov 9, Nov 23, Dec 7. The final filming day will be Tuesday, January 19 with Tuesday, January 26 as a back-up for scenes to be re-recorded. |

Title: Paint Power
Playwright/Director: Kai Stadler Format: Excerpt of 2 scenes, approx 10 minutes, with lines memorized if possible. Plot Summary: In this play about power, a boy finds a magic paintbrush and wants to use its superhero powers but he accidentally creates the supervillain in the name of Evaporo. Title: Snowglobe
Playwright/Director: Written by Isabel Haeger, Co-directed by Eden Eisenberg Format: Full play (with music), approx 11 minutes, with lines memorized if possible. Plot Summary: This play is about friendship and living in different worlds. Protagonist Emma wants to keep Kate and all of the others in the snowglobe safe, but it is difficult since she has a three-year old brother who is curious about the snowglobe. Rehearsal Schedule: Thursdays 10 am -11 am; Additional rehearsals if needed close to recording date. 'Rehearsal days: 11/12; 11/19; 12/3; 12/10; 12/17; 01/7; 01/14. Title: The Right Plan
Playwright/Director: Sophie Lyon Format: 4 scenes, approximately 10 minutes, with lines memorized if possible. Plot Summary: In this play about trust and friendship, George, a rooster, wants to go to the chicken show but it's on the other side of the country, and roosters aren't allowed to travel on airplanes. The excerpt is of the first two scenes. Rehearsal Schedule: Wednesdays, 4:15-5:30. Roles may not be called every week, so final schedule is TBA. Final filming dates are Jan 20 and 27. Title: The Tiny Little Bird
Playwright/Director: Karly Stadler Format: Excerpt of 2 scenes, approx 5 mins, with lines memorized. Plot Summary: In this play about persevence, A bird loves seeds and wishes she had a seed - but she encounters challenges trying to find it and must rely on her friends to help. Title: A Vampire's Quest
Playwright/Director: Jack Evarts Format: Full play, approx 35 minutes. Lines memorized if possible. Plot Summary: A story about friendship. With a mysterious map and a new friend TOM goes on a perilous journey to find the Anti Vampire Equation, but Justin Vampire Hunter will stop at nothing to capture him. Rehearsal Schedule: Mondays and Thursdays at 5:30-6:30pm, November 9- January 25, except for Thanksgiving Day and the week of December 21. All actors may not be called for all days. The final filming day will be Thursday January 21, from 5:00 – 7:00pm, with Monday January 25 from 5:00 –7:00pm as a back up for scenes to be re-recorded. Additional rehearsals may be called closer to production – if so, they will be scheduled at the convenience of all participating. |

- TOM, Dresses in dark clothes, including a dark cape, a hilt at his waist carries his umbrella which he keeps with him at all times. Quite mysterious.
- WANDERING TRAVELER, A scheming trader with an air of mystery.
- BART ENDER, Half goblin, Half Troll, spends most of his time alone working the pub. Friendly &; trustworthy, but lonely.
- JUSTIN THE VAMPIRE HUNTER, Looks like a musketeer, he is filled with anger and looking for revenge.
- HENCHMEN, Seedy, quiet, always ready for a brawl.
- HYDRA, A large green, dragon like monster with 5 heads.
