Spring 2021 Schedule

While our Lowry Crossing location will be closed for on-site activities until mid-March, we are commited to offering programs that fulfill our mission of empowering children through the arts and creating a culture of love.

RPL Players - Spring 2021

DETAILS:

The RPL Players is a homeschool performance group that meets on Zoom once a week to rehearse short original musicals. This is your child's chance to...



  • Participate in an RPL Musical with Minimal Commitment!
  • Grow confidence, collaboration, and performance skills in a low-pressure and fun environment
  • Learn about classic books when translating them to performance
  • Participate in an ongoing theatre experience without leaving home
  • Be part of RPL's ongoing performance series once the Exploratory opens!



In the long-standing tradition of Repertory Theatre, the RPL Players will add a new show to the repertory each month, to create a revolving set of short musicals that are always ready for performance.



Our current repertoire include mini-musicals inspired by Charlotte's Web, Anne of Green Gables, the Little House on the Prairies series, Little Women, and A Christmas Carol.



For 2021 we have two new original mini-musicals:



  • The Little Prince (February 5-March 12, Fridays on Zoom @ 10am)
  • Patchwork Girl of Oz (April 2-May 14, Fridays on Zoom @ 10am)



Enrollment includes:


-Weekly guided rehearsals (held on Zoom until agreed to be safe on-site) with a supportive & fun theatre experience

-At-home rehearsal materials

-Performance opportunities once RPL re-opens (scheduled to accommodate participating families)​

-Virtual showcase with performances by video stream




  • TUITION:$30/production for 1 child
  • Additional children $10/ea (add'l cost is $30 max)

RPL Service Troupe: Positivity Puppetry

DETAILS:


The Read Play Love Service Troupe is an opportunity for homeschool families to engage in a weekly service project without leaving home!


Our special project for the Spring 2021 semester is "Positivity Puppetry" - where kids will make their own puppet(s) to participate in an online video series spreading positivity, compassion and hope.


We are delighted to welcome special guests who will add an additional dimension to our project! Guests for the Spring Semester include:
  • Kelli Hendren, who performed the lead puppet role in Avenue Q on Broadway
  • Barbara Krauss, a Seattle-based author specializing in legacy and creativity, who will help Marney guide the kids in the project
  • Representatives from Collin County Human Services, to discuss local service opportunitites for our families
  • Plus professional puppet artists who will share examples of their work and their techniques and tips to help puppets come alive!


Join with other homeschool families on Zoom each Thursday morning as we focus on helping others and using our creativity to spread some love in the world!




CLASS FEE:
Full semester: $50/family
Single drop-in session: $5/family per session

Musical Theatre U - Spring 2021

DETAILS:


In Musical Theatre U, students learn Musical Theatre Fundamentals, with an emphasis on the FUN! Our mission is to provide a nurturing environment that boosts confidence, stretches skills and promotes empowerment and fun!


MTU’s creative curriculum uses traditional Broadway shows to teach basic principles in acting and singing. Each week introduces musical theatre terminology plus new core concepts. At the end of the 8-week series, performers can earn a “rising star” for each skill they successfully demonstrate. 


Each session in the 2021 semester will cover different performance concepts and classic musicals!
