Auditions:
We create a role for every child who auditions. Auditions can take place in person or by video. We invite children to sing a song of their choosing, and to relax and have fun. At Read Play Love, even our auditions are designed to be positive, empowering experiences for kids!
Rehearsals:
Rehearsals will take place at our new summer location: Living Ethics School, 340 Country Club Rd Fairview, TX 75069 At Read Play Love’s new summer location, every visit is an adventure! 6+ acres of trails, gardens, trees to climb, forts to build, MAGIC to experience. Rehearsal Times: (note that rehearsals times have been adjusted to minimize rush hour traffic for participants)
Mondays & Wednesdays, starting July 9
2:00-4:00 - Full Cast (most actors will be called both days; we can work around minor conflicts)
Principles/special groups may also be called during these times:
12:00-2:00 -- Wednesdays and Fridays
Production week (August 6 & 8) will also have evening rehearsals for full cast at DCT, 5:00-8:00.
We do our very best to accommodate busy summer schedules! Each family submits a list of schedule conflicts, which plays a role in casting into different groups. Full schedule will be available on the first rehearsal so you can plan ahead.
Design Time:
As a new component of RPL productions, we will hold Saltwater Song "Design Time" on Friday afternoons, where kids can drop in to work on set and props for the show. There is no cost to participate in Design Time and you don't have to commit to attending a certain number of sessions. There also may be opportunities for other tech theatre projects, i.e., sound editing.
Performances:
Thursday August 9 & Fri August 10 @ 7:00pm
Performance Location: Dallas Children's Theater (the Studio Theater)
Tentative Encore Matinee on Wed August 15 @ 2pm, location TBA.
(a conflict with this performance does not exclude you from participating)
Additional performances may be scheduled in other locations, determined by the availability of the cast.
Saltwater Song Production Fees:
Production Fee is $199/child
*Family Friendly Pricing for more than one child in show:
25% off both when 2 = $ 298 total for 2 children
35% off all when 3 = $ 390 total for 3 children
50% off all when 4+ = $398 total for 4 children
Homeschool Members: For current RPL Members in a membership commitment to the RPL Community, there is a one-time production fee of $60 for 1 child, $90 for two children, with a family-friendly cap of $120 for 3 or more children.

* Costume costs are the responsibility of parents, but parents work together to decide and make everything as easy and most importantly, cost-effective as possible, often using shared, donated, or secondhand materials to keep costs minimum and much less expensive than other theatre production opportunies.
* A Concessions Donation of $10 is requested of all families.
