Homeschool programs beginning in September are listed below. Homeschool programs are for RPL Members Only, unless otherwise indicated below.
Our homeschool classes and clubs are facilitated by volunteers and parents in the RPL community. Do you, or your older kids, have something you would like to teach or facilitate? Please email us to propose something to add to the schedule!
Little Library Musicals Homeschool Theatre Program Age: 4-8, members and non-members Tuesdays 1:00-2:00 @ FBCR (Session 1 is Oct-Nov, Session 2 is Nov-Dec) Description: Little Library Musicals is a Homeschool/Preschool Theatre Program for ages 4-8 that guides young actors through the process of rehearsing and performing a simple musical in a five-week session. It is a fun, no-pressure, playful introduction to theatre as well as an encourging space for young actors to spread their wings. TED-Ed Club Age: 8+, RPL Members Only Tuesdays 1:00-2:00 @ FBCR (Fall Semester: Sept 11-Dec 11) Description: TED-Ed Clubs help students discover and develop their big ideas into short, TED-style talks. The Clubs program is designed to support students ages 8-18 with a flexible presentation training curriculum, culminating in a final presentation at the end of the semester We invite you to participate in our very first RPL TED-ED Club, joining thousands of Clubs in 100+ countries in a global network of passionate youth with ideas worth sharing. Cost: Free.
Homeschool Art Studio: Embracing Our Differences Age: All, members and non-members Tuesdays 2:00-3:00 @ FBCR (September 11-October 2) Description: Art Studio in September will focus around creating works of art to submit to the "Embracing Our Differences" art context. Each gathering will involve discussion of the theme and encouragement for kids of all ages to create their artistic submission around the theme: "enriching lives through diversity and inclusion." Cost: Free.

HOMESCHOOL WEDNESDAYS in Plano:
Homeschool Debate League: Age: 10-17+, RPL Members Only Wednesdays 12:30-2:00 @ Boys & Girls Club Plano (Fall Semester: Sept 12-Dec 12) Description: Taught by Julia Morgan of Ready Set Resources. The league will use debate sparring, games, activities, and individual and team debates to learn the relevant skills for Public Forum debate. This includes examining propositions, determining the issues at play, structuring cases and rebuttals, learning about effective cross-examination, conducting evidence research, summarizing the state of a debate, learning how to identify and combat logical fallacies, and understanding the elements of judging. Space is limited so be sure to reserve your space in the RSVP. Enrollment is accepted any anytime in the semester, as long as there is space in the club. Homeschool Gym Games Age: 5+, RPL Members Only Wednesdays 12:30-1:30 @ Boys & Girls Club Plano (September 12-26) Description: RPL Members are welcome to come to Boys & Girls Club Plano for a gym game or activitiy, Wednesdays at 12:30! Cost: Free
HOMESCHOOL THURSDAYS in Richardson: RPL Traveling Troupe Age: 3+, members and non-members Thursdays @ 1:00pm @ FBCR (ongoing) Description: The Traveling Troupe is a group of of performers who represent RPL in appearances around the Metroplex! Homeschool Book Club Age: Two groups: 8+ and Under 8, RPL Members only Thursdays @ 2:00pm @ FBCR (ongoing) Description: A new book is chosen each month for discussion and activities. Our book for September is Farmer Boy, to help our Traveling Troupe prepare for our performance at the Heritage Farmstead and Museum at the end of the month. Divided into two age groups. Cost: Free
